About Gusto Translations

Writing with Gusto...

I am Helen, the creator of Gusto Translations. I am an experienced and highly qualified freelance translator, editor and proofreader of French, Spanish and Portuguese into English. I specialise in serving up tantalising texts for the mouth-watering worlds of gastronomy and oenology, and have been translating full-time since 2011.

I mix my educational background (BA French and Spanish, MA Translation) with a huge dose of passion for language, writing, culture and cuisine to concoct fresh and appetising translations to satisfy your specific target market. I can infuse your brand with this passion, and help your business blossom.

My journey into food and wine exploration is fuelled by my location-independent lifestyle; I live, travel and translate around the world, soaking up the ways in which food, wine and cultural tradition are so intrinsically linked. I have lived in my source language countries, including France, Spain, Portugal, Brazil, Peru and Italy, so cultural and linguistic nuances are in mind throughout the entire translation process.

I continue my education by networking at industry-related trade fairs and expos, translation conferences, reading trade journals and of course, continuing to travel and taste.
